The change of New York’s Chinatown is a growth history of overseas Chinese. The earliest Chinatown in New York was formed in 1890. In 1848, two men and a woman took the boat to reach the United States, who were the first Chinese immigrants. Then the number increased every year. They did the work that the white Americans refused to do. The white people also bullied the Chinese and forced them to migrate to east coast of America. The first Chinese to enter New York City had settled in Mott Street and Bourke Street in the southeast area of Manhattan, and the Chinatown was formed in 1890.

Today’s Chinatown is bustling and flourishing. In the south of the Chinatown, there is a “Confucius Plaza”, a symbol of the spirit of the Chinese people.

The Oldest Los Angeles Chinatown

Connected with the ancient city of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Chinatown, located north of Sunset Boulevard, although it’s not as famous as New York, San Francisco’s Chinatown, but it is one of the oldest Chinatown in the United States and Europe.

The range of Chinatown is made as the main street to Broad Way and extended to Bernard Street. There are antique China Town arches, and many Chinese restaurants, shops and banks.

In 1850, only two Chinese lived here, after 100 years of continuous development, it has now become the center of the cultural life of Los Angeles. The Chinese can be seen everywhere on the streets marked in Chinese.

To Chinatown, in addition to feeling the development of history of Chinese in Los Angeles, of course, the shopping and dining is the main content. In addition to enjoying authentic Chinese cuisine, the Vietnamese dishes are everywhere.
