留学生打工也有三宝：IRD、护照、银行账号。有了这“三宝”，若你英语过关，运气又够好，那么恭喜你与我一样成为打工一族。但须提醒的是，按照现在新西兰法定政策，有PR（Permanent Residence）的人可以一周168小时无限制打工，可International Student（国际留学生）每周只限打工20小时，且必须是在学校办公室领取允许证才符合条件。
微笑很重要
在ST.LUKE shopping mall里的ICE CREAM PARLOUR打工。这可是新西兰著名的全国冰淇淋连锁店MR WHIPPY的“分号”。
一家出色的冰淇淋店不仅要在物质上满足大众需求，精神上也要让顾客得到享受，所以微笑很重要。
尊重每一个客人
同时，表现出对每一位顾客的尊重。有些身体有障碍的人来买冰淇淋，由于无法站立，手够不着柜台，就蹲下身递给他。打工时自己的形象也要注意，工作服要勤洗。另外，千万别贪小便宜。虽然有时顾客买冰淇淋会找零，并请你当作小费收下，但匆忙中顾客很容易多付钱，多付钱也必须还给对方。
有钱舍不得花
最后该谈谈工资了。通常新西兰发员工工资是按周计算的，而且成年人与未成年人的工资有差别。未成年人扣去税，一般在7纽币左右，成年人可达9纽币左右，均可付现金或打卡。建议将工资存在卡上，这样你出去SHOPPING就不用带现金了。
