史蒂芬·柯林斯·福斯特(Stephen Collins Foster)，美国作曲家。他生于匹兹堡东边的一个小镇，在家中十个兄弟姊妹中排行第九。因为家中并不富裕，所以自小几乎失学在家，但他喜欢阅读及热爱音乐。青少年时期与哥哥等合组一个音乐社，名为“方桌武士”，在其十八岁时写下其生平第一首歌《打开窗扉的爱》。
