Those carved balustrades，those marble terraces—They should still be there.

How much sorrow and pray，can a person carry？
Like the spring torrent flowing eastward，without tarry！

背景知识
李煜(937－978)，五代十国时南唐国君，汉族，在位时间为961—975年，字重光，初名从嘉，号钟隐、莲峰居士。李煜才华横溢，工书善画、能诗擅词、通音晓律，是被后人千古传诵的一代词人。本无心争权夺利，一心向往归隐生活的李煜能登上王位完全是个意外，无奈命运弄人。他也是刻于历史卷宗上的亡国之君。
作为一个“好声色，不恤政事”的国君，李煜是失败的；但正是亡国成就了他千古词坛“南面王”的地位。正所谓“国家不幸诗家幸，话到沧桑语始工”。《虞美人》就是千古传诵不衰的著名诗篇。这首词刻画了强烈的故国之思，取得了惊天地泣鬼神的艺术效果。
