威廉·莎士比亚 William Shakespeare（1564-1616），英国最伟大的诗人、剧作家，世界最杰出的大文豪。莎士比亚出生于英国沃里克郡斯特拉特福镇一个商人家庭，16岁时因家境贫困而辍学。22岁时他离开家乡独自来到伦敦。最初在剧场里看马、做杂役，1588年前后开始创作剧本。
莎翁一生写下了大量的剧本和诗歌，流传下来的有37部戏剧、两首长诗和154首十四行诗。他的主要成就是戏剧，被同时代的戏剧家成为“时代的灵魂”。而作为一位伟大的诗人，其十四行诗也被称为奉献给世界的“不朽的绝唱”。
1616年，莎翁逝世。巧合的是，他的生、卒日同为4月23日。
本以为消逝的一切都已死去，
不曾想他们还欢聚在你的胸口
那里荡漾着爱，和它可爱的一切，
也珍藏着那些我以为失去的朋友。
多少圣洁的泪水，将那虔诚的爱

Which I by lacking have supposed dead；
And there reigns Love and all Love’s loving parts，
And all those friends which I thought buried.
How many a holy and obsequious tear
Hath dear religious love stol’n from mine eye，
As interest of the dead， which now appear
But things remov’d that hidden in thee lie！
Thou art the grave where buried love doth live，
Hung with the trophies of my lovers gone，
Who all their parts of me to thee did give，
That due of many now is thine alone：
Their images I lov’d， I view in thee，
And thou， all they， hast all the all of me.
